Lover of Family, God’s creation & All things Cute

Jerre was a very special lady who loved family gatherings and especially small children, no matter whose they were! Along with raising her three children, she was the beloved matriarch of eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a lover of nature & animals, especially cardinals (birds & baseball!) not to mention her best friend Bella (her “guardian angel” dog & shadow :).

Her generosity, especially during holidays, will never be forgotten. She was amazing with craft making, and we were always captivated by the meticulous detail she expressed in all of them, not only with birdhouses but also with her famous egg-shell Christmas ornaments containing miniature winter & Christmas-themed scenes.

She will also be remembered as a fighter with a strong core – having overcome several serious illnesses and surgeries in her lifetime, and even in the last few months, rarely complaining and fighting bravely through much pain and discomfort.

Jerre Maxine Perrey passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Saint Peters, Missouri at the age of 88. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Missouri on June 27, 1928 to Max and Fern Cherry Turk. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School, Lebanon, Missouri, and attended Drury College in Springfield, Missouri.

She married John D. Perrey on May 21, 1948 in Lebanon, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2011. Jerre was a member of St. Louis Family Church, and previously in her lifetime had been employed as an LPN and various office positions, retiring in 1990 as Office Administrator at Mideast Area Agency on Aging.

Survivors include her children, John D. “Skip” (Sheila) Perrey, Jr. of Newburgh, Indiana; Jennifer Perrey Kutscher of Saint Peters, Missouri, and Jill (Charles) LeBlanc of Ponte Vedra, Florida.

Grandchildren Camille Fowler, Cherrie Dye, Ricky Kutscher, Ryan Perrey, Rachel Durgin, Nikki Hopkins and Kristina Avila.

Great-grandchildren, Adelise and Collette Perrey, Everly Durgin, Taylor Hopkins, Thatcher Kutscher, Kingston and Charlie Fowler, and Jayce Dye.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Beau LeBlanc, two sisters: Marjorie Conde and Norma Anderson, and a brother Harlan “Bud” Turk.
