Norman Joseph LeBlanc, Sr. went peacefully to heaven on Tuesday April 7, 2009 at the age of 87. We are all saddened at not seeing his big beautiful smile, but we are also comforted with the blessed assurance that he is rejoicing in heaven with all of his loved ones that have gone before him. We are sure that he walked through the Pearly Gates and said with his cajun accent, “It is good for You to see me, ah guar-on-tee!”

A native of Grand Point, Louisiana, Norman retired from Standard Oil of Indiana while living in St. Louis, Missouri. Norman and Elma moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1981 to be closer to their children. After his ordination Norman began ministry as a chaplain at Banner Mesa Medical Center, and ministered at Maricopa County jails and also to the poor. He was an active member of Sovereign Grace Church and a retired International Director of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International. He served his country during WWII in Italy, Egypt and North Africa as a Technical Sergeant in the Army Air Corps and was a member of the American Legion, Post #26. Norman was a proud graduate of Engineering from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!).

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elma Boe’ LeBlanc and their six children, Cherie LeBlanc Phelan, Norman LeBlanc Jr., Phil LeBlanc, Sue LeBlanc Pearson, Charlie LeBlanc, Tom LeBlanc and their spouses. There are 19 grandchildren including one deceased and 12 great grandchildren. Norman was one of eleven children and is survived by Durel, Neil, Leroy (Pete), and Ronald.
