Absolutely. And we’re really excited because we have some very, very, very special guests with us, this week. Their name is Julieann and Butch Hartman. Welcome you guys.

Hi. Good to be with you so much. Got three verys. Very, very, very.

Very, very, very. We got three. You’re right. These are some of our best friends. And, you know, when you go through a difficult time in your life, it’s it’s so important to have great friends to help you, to encourage you.

Charlie:

And, these guys have been that for us in so many different ways. And we’re gonna talk a little bit about that. But before we do, we wanna introduce you them officially to you as official as I know how to. I’ll start with Butch and say that Mr. Butch Hartman, you may know the name.

Yeah. Yeah.

Yep. I’m messing all this up, Butch. Sorry. And you worked with Nickelodeons for how many years?

Butch:

Twenty years. Been in the animation industry in Hollywood for over forty years, but Nickelodeon for the last twenty. Yeah.

Charlie:

Wow. And then you created several very popular cartoon programs on Nickelodeons.

Butch:

Yes, Fairly Fairly Oddparents. Oddparents. Yes. Danny Phantom was the second one. Then there was a show called Tough Puppy, and then my last show at Nickelodeon was called Bunsen is a Beast.

Butch:

So I did four shows there. And that was a lot of fun. It was such a great a great, amazing thing to be able to do what I love to do every day and make a living at it. And that was really a blessing.

Julieann:

Wow. So cool. Yeah.

I’m sure it was fun to go to work today and just sit there and laugh. Right? You’re trying to make things funny and just

Butch:

Oh, yeah. Yeah. Well, not only make we don’t we have to not only write the stories, but then bring them to life. And that was Right. You know?

Butch:

So then we and the cool thing was we’d make these fun cartoons, never knowing if anybody watched them. We would deliver them to the network and we’d see them on TV on occasion, but now we get the really great opportunity to go out in the world, go to comic book conventions and just people kids that have grown up, they’re now in their mid twenties, late early thirties, and they’ve all watched the shows and you realize the audience that these shows reach. And that’s why being in entertainment like you guys are, like we are, the power of a screen is extremely powerful. And putting something on that screen can either make somebody uplift them or you can, know, put something very dark into their spirit. So we do our best to put great things out there, you know, where we really try hard to do that.

That’s awesome. And he’s still doing it. After leaving Nickelodeon, we still are doing it. We have our own animation studio right now called Butch Hartman Studios where we are developing three different shows, which are oh my gosh. They’re so cute.

It’s pretty it’s fun. We get to work together and and he gets to still do what he loves to do, which is create children’s content.

Butch:

And we have a new show called The Garden Cartoon, which is a a Christian cartoon that’s out there now. And you guys if if you’re a parent or grandparent and have a have kids and you I know you’re terrified to put or don’t wanna watch anything on YouTube or TV, we completely get it. We have this great cartoon. It’s not Angel Studios. It’s, on our own garden cartoon app.

Absolutely. And, you know, Butch, was just thinking as you were sharing a little bit about your background there, that there’s probably a lot of people that listen, that their kids possibly watch some of these programs. And I just appreciate anything that’ll uplift the heart and make someone smile and laugh. I know for me, even to be honest, there’s some times when I’m getting a little bit like, and I’ll just put on something funny on YouTube just for even ten minutes and just get Jill will hear me laughing out loud at something. You know?

We all want to take medicine, but really I often encourage people, we often do, because we’re often all of us here on this program are in prayer lines all the time praying for people, and nine times out of 10 I’ll say, Have you guys had any fun lately? Like they’ll be coming up with, and I understand people have real issues, I get it. Yes. Absolutely, but sometimes you just gotta say, Go on and have some fun. Put on.

Absolutely, absolutely. Well, know, I know that a lot of people that are listening, normally our audience is people who have had losses in their life and difficulty. And sometimes it’s hard to smile. Sometimes it’s hard when you’re But in the depth of that like you said, these things actually help us. And Julieann, you were in Hollywood show business for so many years.

Charlie:

You did so many things. Tell us a little bit about the things that you did.

Julieann:

Well, I was, of course, anybody that lives in LA wants to be an actor, you know? So just like, go And you were born there. I was born here, yeah. So I think it was a little harder for the ones that are born here because, you know, when you come from another place and you’re just you hit the know you hit the road and you’re running and but I was born and raised here and I just love I what I what’s so interesting I was just telling someone this the other day I wanted to just make an impact in people’s lives so I thought it was through acting that I would be able to become a house this was my this was Julieann’s plan I’d become a household name so that anything that I was that I wanted to talk about people would actually value listen to and then value it But what God has done is completely opposite of what I thought. I did love to perform.

Julieann:

I’m a little bigger than life at times. Would you say that

Butch:

I am? Don’t know. How how could people I don’t get that. I understand how people think

Julieann:

that. No.

Charlie:

Me neither.

Butch:

I don’t see that at all.

Julieann:

No. But I really wanted to, you know, I just, I love acting and I love like, you know, working on characters and stuff. And so, but I was always getting typecast as the, the crazy redhead, the one that lived next door to the main character. I wasn’t always the main character. But anyway but through that my mother told me many years ago if you want to be an actress you’re not the type to be a waitress that you better learn some other skill.

Julieann:

And so she was right about that. So the other skill I learned was typing and through that I got a job on the game show Jeopardy. And because I could type really fast.

Butch:

Because she could type. She answered an ad in variety. Type as needed. It didn’t say Jeopardy or anything. Just type as needed.

Butch:

She answered the ad and it for Jeopardy! This is 1984.

Julieann:

Wow! So they were bringing Jeopardy! From New York to LA and Alex Trebek now is gonna be the host. So I got, this is, I did not know Jesus yet. We got saved twenty six years ago.

Julieann:

We did not know Jesus at all. Matter of fact, Jesus was just a cuss word in

Butch:

our life. I didn’t know you at all, though.

Julieann:

I didn’t know you either. But God really like strategically planning me there because I was the least likely person to have a job on a game show like Jeopardy! I mean, come on. Was, I barely graduated high school. Like, just get her out of here, right?

Julieann:

Give her a diploma, get her out. And so I really did not have the brains to be, to work on the, in the writing department. I was not a writer. I was what we call a material supervisor, which that means that I helped put the games together. And I typed up all the questions and all that.

Julieann:

So I did that for fifteen years and it was and then during that time, of course, I met my husband. But what I loved is that they let me go on auditions so I could leave during like you know lunch for maybe two three hours go do auditions and stuff but never really made it. I only did a few tiny little episodic stuff And since this is a Christian show, I mean, got myself involved in some movies I shouldn’t have been involved in. Didn’t know it. One of the ratings was more towards the end of the alphabet, let’s just say that.

Julieann:

But didn’t know. Right? And but I just thought that’s what you do to

Butch:

make finding all this out right now, just so you’re all aware.

Julieann:

would have done anything to make it. Anyway, but God had other plans for me and I’m so thankful that I didn’t make it. Because but through that though leading into how I met my husband too was one of my friends who was my biggest supporter at Jeopardy! She was like, Julieann you’re so funny you should do stand up and because of that doing stand up comedy is where I met my husband and then obviously

Charlie:

our So whole you did standup comedy for a while?

Julieann:

Yeah, I did it long enough to meet him and then I was out. Listen, Did you do standup, Butch?

Butch:

Yeah. Yeah. I did stand up comedy as well. The few times you guys have visited this guesthouse and been our guest here, there’s actually a stand up comedy book in this bookshelf. And that’s the book that had me start doing it.

Butch:

Yeah. That’s why it was there.

Well, want the reason I have that book. It makes sense why we laugh at you guys so much because you Right. Say

I know. We like you to laugh with us, but we’ll take laughing at us.

That’s why we’re friends because we laugh at your jokes. Think that’s

You do. I’m glad somebody does.

Julieann:

Thank you. But you know what? You just you’re when you’re when you’re in the world, you’re lost. You’re just grasping at whatever, you know Sure. Straws or whatever.

Julieann:

But I know that God put me in that long enough just to meet him. And because after I met him, I just was so disillusioned by the whole stand up world. It’s pretty gross. And for me back then in those days. And so that’s why I just knew it was not for me anymore.

Julieann:

But Butch did continue on doing it, which for a man it was a whole different business than it was for a woman, I’m sure you I don’t need to go into detail about that.

Butch:

me just say that your name is a household name around our house. We talk about booking Julieann all the time. You’ve made it, you’ve made it to a household name.

Julieann:

But you know what’s so crazy you guys, think about it. If I would have, what would my voice had been? Like, what was my advice about? It was bad. Yeah.

Julieann:

So God even protected me from sowing into people’s lives that I should have never been talking about the things that I was talking about. God just protected me all ways, though I thought this was the way.

Charlie:

And protected all of us.

Julieann:

Yeah, yeah.

Butch:

It’s the human race, yes.

Julieann:

Yeah, but I’m just so, I’m so thankful because most people get discouraged and leave Hollywood. Man, I didn’t make it. But for me, it’s like, Oh, thank you Jesus that I did not make I guess, the level that I was trying to go for.

Charlie:

Yeah. Well, Julieann, you’ve had a miraculous healing in your life. And of course, we’re addressing a lot of people that do not get healing for their children, for their son, for their brother, mother, they prayed, spouse, whatever it might have been. Some were sudden deaths in passing. I just have a whole list of friends that have experienced that.

Charlie:

But the beautiful thing that I love about you guys is although you have experienced a supernatural healing in your life and have now been brought in, God has called you into a healing ministry where you’re ministering to so many people, you also have the understanding of what Jill and I are doing, in that there are so many people that have had losses and they need their hearts healed as well. And so you guys have been a great encouragement to us. I just want the audience to know that you guys have just really blessed us and really helped us. Even with our book, you were so instrumental in helping us get to the finish line with the book. But I want you to just tell them, I want you to share about the healing ministry that you have, but then also about what you’re doing now.

Julieann:

Yeah. Well, Healing Drees Today is the name of our ministry, which it is platform on YouTube. So we’re on YouTube and Facebook. And the model is, which God gave me the whole model, was to have myself and many others throughout the years teach on healing. So we have over about 4,000 of teaching on healing from you know, gosh, from probably eight, ten different people.

That’s the regular. There’s probably at least 20 different people over the years that have come and gone. But the regular core group is about eight people.

Yes, September eleventh and twelfth, New York City. Last year, last August, at Charis Bible College, the Lord said, Take the Healing Journeys Today team to New York City and we are doing it and it’s going to be at Faith Exchange Church. You can go to healingjourneystoday.com to register to come but I am telling you something, we saw something like this happen when we went to the Celtic nations because God specifically told us to go to Ireland, Scotland, Wales this is last year and this year he told us to go to New York. The healings that we saw take place in the Celtic nations, it was a no brainer. When he tells you to do something, like you heard an audible voice, I heard an audible voice telling us to go to New York City.

And so that’s what we’re doing. And it has been interesting because I don’t know anybody that lives there. So it’s been a journey trying to figure out where to go, but it’s going to be September eleventh and twelfth. It’s a two day event and at one day it’s like one day is a continuation to the next day, so it’s not like just come to one day and not the other. I’m praying that everybody can just set aside their schedule.

We’ve got, you know, some time left to come both days because I’m telling you, the testimonies that we have from this are incredible. The biggest testimony is this, Oh my God, I didn’t realize how free I was. I didn’t understand freedom. I didn’t understand who I was in Christ. And yes, people get healed on the spot.

Julieann:

And some people it’s gonna be a journey. It was for me because emotions are something that you, to me, you gotta work it daily. That’s what happened to me. I had to change the way I was thinking on a daily basis. I couldn’t just go, all my thoughts are to change right now.

Julieann:

No, I had to change it as things came up. I had a choice to make. I’m either gonna go with what the Lord has shared with me and told me who I am in Him or I’m gonna revert back to what I used to think of myself before Him. And we have choices like that. So this two day is intensive.

Julieann:

Well, I wanted to get into just for a few minutes about, you know, you both are pastors, which we love that about you. You love people. You’ve seen a lot of losses around you in your church amongst a lot of people. And we know how compassionate you guys are and loving and sensitive to people’s hearts when they’re in that moment. You’ve been with people at the point of death.

Charlie:

You’ve helped the families. You’ve even called us and said, will you call the family because they lost a son or whatever it might be? And we just appreciate your love and compassion. It’s just a beautiful thing for me to see how passionate you are about getting people healed, but also see that equal passion when you do find someone who has had a loss, you’re passionate to help them, passionate to have compassion, to love them, to help them, to get them through the difficult times. And, Butch, you just recently lost a dear friend and and a guy Moon.

Charlie:

What an amazing you knew him so well. You’ve worked him for so many years. Tell us a little bit about that and how you process, how it touched you and, you know, and how his family is doing.

Butch:

Well, that’s very nice of you to ask. I mean, in fact, you guys were there when we got the news. So interesting. Just no one knows, but Guy Moon was my composer on my show, The Fairly Oddparents, for

Julieann:

over man.

Butch:

Over twenty years. I mean, I don’t and many people don’t even think when you do a cartoon, need music. We all just take it for granted. You watch a cartoon, there’s music on it. Well, like any movie, any TV show, any anything that’s, you know, broadcast, if it has music on it, someone has to make it.

Butch:

In this case, Guy Moon was my composer. I knew him for over thirty years and, you know, every time I needed music for anything. He did every episode of The Fairly Oddparents, over 150 episodes for me. He did my other shows too. Combined total about 400 episodes of cartoon animation he did for me.

Plus a lot of freelance stuff I would give him and a lot of

Julieann:

He’s got a relationship too.

Butch:

Yeah, he would just I’m just saying all that because he was so talented and he was a Christian man too. In fact, he was instrumental in Julieann and I getting saved in the first place. He just kind of tossed off a comment, I don’t think he knew what he was doing. Were just having our first daughter. He had kids already, and I said, How are your kids so good?

Butch:

He said, Oh, we take them to church all the time, and we looked at each other saying, Church?

Julieann:

Church, that’s how we do it.

Butch:

We don’t want to. No, at first, I was like, I don’t want to go to church. I’ve never been to church. What is that all about? I mean, I knew people who went to church, of course, but I was never raised going to church.

Butch:

Didn’t know anybody who went to church. So for me to think I had to go to church and follow rules and do

Julieann:

all actually, in the beginning, we took the kids to church, but we didn’t go in the we stayed in the kids room.

Butch:
19:45

We stayed in the kids room with the kids. We were terrified to leave our kids in a room by themselves. And so we actually got to the church, but didn’t hear the words. We didn’t hear the words. And so slowly but surely God knew exactly what he was doing.

Butch:

We ended up becoming, you know, saved and dove headfirst into the gospel. But anyway, Guy passed away just this last Suddenly. Suddenly in January 2026. Actually, you guys had come out for my birthday. Were heading to this great vacation thing we were doing, and you guys were along for the ride.

Butch:

And that day was my oh, the day before my birthday, we got word from his wife that he was killed while riding his motor scooter through his town. He went through a stop sign or stoplight and got hit by a car and was tragically killed. You know, I just praise the Lord that he was saved. Thank God. We know we’ll see him again.

Butch:

But these things happen suddenly. Many of you out there know how suddenly these things can happen. And how I dealt with it was, obviously there was mourning because we were very close. And it’s funny, I had just texted him two days beforehand cause I was doing an event about the Hollywood industry and I wanted him to come and speak. And so when I got a phone call from him, I thought it was him calling me to say he was gonna come but it was actually his wife calling about the tragedy.

Butch:

Yeah, I can talk about it now, but it was very difficult and anyone out there who’s lost someone close to them, know, you know how difficult they came.

Julieann:

We went and saw the family a couple days later and they actually ministered to us.

Butch:

Yeah, they were in a good place.

Julieann:

What? And what they did say which was really kind of was a good thing was that the I guess one of the investigators was looking at there was a business that had a camera and they saw what happened and they said that it was instant he was gone. So he did not suffer at all. And we know that to be present with in the body or I’m sorry, to be absent from the body is to

Charlie:

be present. And

Julieann:
21:43

it was like quick, it was like he was here and then he was there. And that’s really cool to know that there was not weeks and months of in a hospital, you know, not responding and all that stuff, which that brings What much

Butch:

to the, what meant the most to me though, and this goes with anybody who is a lover of Jesus, even though Guy’s not here, watching his family honor him at the memorial, because they all brought up Jesus through everything they said. He passed that down to his children, passed it down to his grandkids. They all know who Jesus is because of him, his wife. And so his wife’s still around, of course, his wife’s still alive, but it was just amazing to watch the legacy that he left behind. So that’s, you know, we were already all about legacy in our lives and we really pushed legacy because the decisions we make now affect people coming after us fifty to a hundred years from now.

Butch:

I mean, there’s decisions that were made in my past by people that still affect people to this day, and you can do the same thing. You are making a decision right now that’s either selfish or it’s uplifting to somebody else. And so we have to just figure out what we wanna do in our life. And so, yeah, the guy’s passing was a learning experience for sure.

Julieann:

But what’s really cool when you go we went to the memorial and you saw hundreds of people. Yeah. And we saw people that we were like, wait, how did you know Guy? You know, it was like, you know how worlds collide, you’re like, wait a

Butch:

minute,

Julieann:

how did you know Guy? And it was like, well, he was at your house and you introduced us. But anyway, it was so wonderful just to see how the kids honored him. I mean my gosh just honored him and honored him and it was it was amazing but it was it’s still to this day we’re like I’m still not accepting it.

Butch:

Yeah.

Julieann:

You know it’s like I still don’t accept it. He’s here somewhere on this earth. Like, there’s no way he’s gone.

Jill:

I know how that feels. Yeah. Big time.

Julieann:

No, I’m saying I can’t even imagine when it’s someone I mean, we didn’t meet this guy.

Charlie:

I watched a funeral yesterday online actually of a pastor, an elder at a church, locally here. One of the things that the pastor said was, I feel like I’m in a dream. He said, I don’t really believe this has actually happened. It It was one of their right hand men that got hit in a car accident and died instantly, 65 years old, wonderful leader of youth groups, leader of youth,

Julieann:

Charlie:

life, a big Anyway, but yeah, some of these things happen so fast and and, you know, I bet Butch there are many times you kinda like at the beginning at least went to text. I’m like, wait a minute, I can’t. You know, you needed music. Knew you.

Butch:

Anybody anybody who suffered a loss, then no one knows better than you guys, but you you Yeah. And I didn’t see him every day, but still I was I was I was planning some other projects planned. And Guy was the sort of person, he was so talented musically, and you both appreciate this. I could tell him, okay, I want a three chord bubblegum pop music down here. I would he would be able to do it.

Butch:

Or I want a 50 piece orchestra orchestration, dramatic fight scene here. He could do the I mean, he could do he really could do anything.

Charlie:

Butch:

And that’s why I appreciate it, not just his talent, but him so much because he was it was never the answer was never now. It was just like, when do you need it? Right?

fantastic finished the last episode, like, weeks before he passed.

Yeah. He had just finished the last episode.

He just had finished it. Right.

So have you found someone to replace him in those capacities yet?

Butch:

We’ve found it. We do have a wonderful composer named Jacob Olufsen, you know, from Charis Bible College. Jacob also did some music on the garden. He did a guy would do the score, which is the background music on the show. Yes.

Butch:

And Jacob helped me with all the songs. When the characters would stop the story and go into a song, Jacob does all the songs. Jacob is a scary, talented person. He is. He’s like a Beethoven, Mozart, Swedish meatball all mixed together.

Butch:

Is from Sweden. But Jacob is a dear friend and his family is wonderful. But Jacob is like one of those guys that you guys know, he’ll composed an opera that’s three hours long in his closet and his bedroom on his keyboard. And it’s unbelievable.

Charlie:

It really is. It really is. Well, I know even with the replacement, I’m sure you miss Guy, but you know, you guys are aware, of course, you helped us write our book. It’s called When Lost Comes Close to Home. And Julieann, know, and Butch, you know, this may have been one of the closest to your home.

Charlie:

I don’t know, others that are close to, that were that close to you that you lost. But Julieann, you lost your mother.

Jill:

In your home.

Charlie:

In your home. And that was, I remember talking with you during that time. I know y’all had a glorious time of prayer and worship and obviously a glorious, send off for her to Jesus. And we loved her. We knew Janet really well.

Charlie:

She’d come. You’d bring her to Carus. She was a sweet lady. But tell a little bit about what you experienced since that maybe I don’t know. Am I wrong that this was probably the closest to home of a loss that you’ve ever experienced?

Charlie:

Tell the people a little bit about how you went through that and how that affected you.

Julieann:

Well, my mom literally woke up one day, June 1, and she said her back hurt.

Charlie:

Of 2022.

Julieann:
27:22

Of 2022, and by August 21, she was gone. Oh, Yeah, it was like, what just happened?

Butch:

And she could never articulate what the pain was.

Yeah, no one, they couldn’t find anything wrong with her. And they said, Oh, you did something to your tailbone. Yeah, when she was 17 and she fell off a horse.

years So it’s like, is that really still, I mean, it could be a thing, but anyway, it was just a series of hospitals and nursing homes. And that was so hard. These nursing homes were And I couldn’t, I just couldn’t believe that my precious mom would have to be subject to that. But yeah, I do believe that my mom, when my mom got saved, he got saved at 62.

Well, we all pretty much did that to our kids, everybody. Well, but then, you know, then she gets this whole situation happening. Our daughter, Sophia, was so instrumental in helping us with all of it because it was so foreign. I mean, somebody that was so self sufficient all of a sudden could not be. And just so many things.

I cried more at that time in my life than I’ve ever cried before. And just I you know she lived in our guest house I would go up to my house and would just cry and cry I was frustrated and crying at the same time. Frustrating because I didn’t know what else I could do and every time I would leave her at that nursing home I didn’t know what I was leaving her to. I know that a lot of people out there that are watching this right now I know you feel guilty for some things that might have happened at the nursing home that you didn’t know about. I’m just telling you don’t let that do not let the enemy remind you of those kind of things.

That is not from God God does not remind you of terrible experiences like that so that is what the enemy is trying to do to you so use this absolutely you refuse it say no way and because there was like they would give her, they were giving her Norco and that was making her hallucinate. And my sweet mom would call me and say the weirdest things in the middle of the night. I’m like, mom, like one time she called and she said, she goes, Why did you let those men take me to Hawaii? I mean, was the first thing she said. I go, What are you talking about, Mom?

You’re not in Hawaii. Yes, I am. Can you please talk to these guys? Because I don’t want to be here anymore. I want to go home.

And I’m like, so you’re telling me the men are in your room right now? Yes. So I told her, I said, mom, I don’t believe that’s happening right now and I want you to tell me what are you looking at? There was a window by her bed and I said, what? I said, what color curtains are you looking at right now?

And she would tell me, oh, they’re maroon and they’ve got lace on them. And I said, see mom, you’re still in the same room that I left you in last night. And she’d be like, oh.

The nursing home was really close to where we lived. It was like maybe three miles from But

I specifically told them, do not give my mom Norco. I went to the case manager and said, not give my mom Norco. She doesn’t need it. She was not in any pain. She was fine.

So I tricked them one night and my mom started acting weird again. And I’m like, okay, it’s been like three days. She’s been really good. None of that fog look on her face, you know. And so I went out to the nurse that was distributing everybody’s meds and I said, hey, I just want to know how much has it, how many Norco pills has my mom received today because she knows she’s not really doing well and she goes oh this is her third one today.

I went okay thank you that was at night the next morning I was right in that case manager’s office and I was not happy. How could you do this? I said, do you wanna kill my mom? Is that what you wanna do? I went off.

Julieann:

Okay, I went off. And like everybody, I don’t know anybody who doesn’t go off on a nursing home when they’re mistreating your loved one. You know, it’s like, brought, my mom was never like, everything matched. Like my mom was a fashionista and I would buy her clothes just to bring in there and I would come in and I’d find her in someone else’s outfit. And I look in the cabinet where I put all her clothes and they would be gone.

And so I just, again, I just want to say, because I know that when there’s a death situation, there’s so much that goes into it. And as you are like processing the death, I just want you to know, don’t beat yourself up. Don’t allow the enemy to beat you up for some of the things that maybe you didn’t see or that you overlooked because there is emotions that come when a loved one is dying.

And you’re thrown, you’re sort of thrown to the wolves so quick. You have no idea even where you are. You’re thrown into a new environment, new experiences, new things you gotta deal with, with nursing homes and insurance

stain you, make you feel like you’re doing something wrong.

Make you feel like you did something wrong even though you’re the one that’s been caring for so long. They want to be heroes suddenly and you’re going, Wait a minute, woah! So a lot of things come at you. And the great thing is with Jesus, He gives you the mind of Christ, gives you the ability to deal with all this stuff a lot better than it’d be if you’re doing I it under your own

just ministered to a lady whose father is not doing well. Well, they were doing well and something happened. They gave him a medication they weren’t supposed to. And the family is shaming her because they elected her to be the one there. And they are just, she just called me and was crying.

She said, did I do this to my dad? I mean, just like, why would a family member do that to

Somebody that is there and they’re in the middle of it. They’re hearing the screams at night coming from the other rooms. They’re seeing their loved one, you know, just not acting the way they normally do. There’s just so much. And then to have family members be so mean like that, that is just not acceptable.

much that goes on that people don’t understand or know happens when you’re going through this kind of situation. And, you know, like you guys, you know, we all know that those Christians go directly into the arms of Jesus, but at the same time like us, you know, even though we knew Bo went right into heaven, there was also that pain of missing the mourning, the pain of just like, you know, wishing that it was different and just the heartache. I heard someone say recently, he said, It just hurts so bad on the inside. I heard a person say that twice actually, in two different situations. Said, The pain, it just hurts so bad.

And I appreciate you addressing a lot of the people that, you know, the guilt and so forth, because I think even for Jill and I, you know, we look back, we rehearse. Maybe we should have done this. Maybe we should have done that. Or maybe we didn’t do it right. Or why didn’t we do this?

And so people, do fight not only when they’re living in the nursing home thing, but after they’re dead, they deal with all this guilt of wish we’d have done that or whatever. Thank

Yes, there’s like the Bible says, there’s a time to mourn, there’s a time to weep, but there’s also a time to heal and there’s a time to move on with your life. And if you’re still here, you have a life to live. You’re not dishonoring anybody by living your life. That’s not dishonoring of the person.

You know, I switched over to a new phone a few months ago and of course I said to them I go listen I know you guys want me to do this at home which is fine but if everything that if my mom’s voicemails and my mom’s text messages my mom that’s not alive anymore don’t don’t transfer over I am gonna be just devastated and the guy was like no I swear to you. So of course I knew the transfer and everything transferred but my mom. Oh no! Yeah, I said no this is not happening and I went like a mad woman over to T Mobile and I said everything transferred but the one thing that I said that I had to have and that’s my mom’s.

And he goes, well, let’s just do another reset right now. And we did and all of it came up. Thank you. Mean, I wanna

hear Every time you voice go like a mad woman, things happen.

Things happen. But you know, it’s like, still have that. And I will tell you, it’s been four years this month and I have her picture up in my office. I can’t put her picture still where I can see it every day. I mean, office, it’s one of those offices, it’s more like a catchall, but I can’t because I still, I miss her so much.

And when I talk about her, I still cry because she lived with us for twelve years. You don’t really get that usually after you’ve left your home. The last twelve years of her life, she was here and we did everything together. I came down to see her every day. And I was the last person that she saw every night.

And that was when she was completely well, you know, just had the best time. So I had to process through that. Like the house that we’re doing this in was her, it was the guest house that she lived in and I painted, I did everything I could. So I didn’t smell her anymore Cause it was just making me cry every time I came But she’s still her, it’s like her, her aroma is still here. And like her clothes.

And that I just want to tell people it’s okay. I have had to move on, but I still have a whole closet full of her clothes. I gave away most of her stuff, but there’s some that I just am not I ready to give away still have her ashes in my closet. I don’t know. I’m not ready like disperse them.

My mom always said, when I die, make sure you cremate me. And I want you to spread my ashes all over the local department stores. Oh my there is Don’t do the ocean. I want you to do it all across Oh my god. Know, all the my favorite department stores.

That’s what people, you know, they don’t, you know, people are identifying with you right now because they’ve had losses and they still miss and they still love and they still think and they still have pictures and so forth. And we still have pictures. I got pictures of Bovee in my studio of him playing drums around me.

You know, we have his ashes in our closet and, you know, so yeah, we do the same thing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We love them and we always will.

And like you say, you know, it’s not like we leave them behind as we move forward. We’re getting closer to them. As we move forward with our lives, with our career, with our ministries, we’re moving toward toward our loved ones who are in heaven, and that that’s a good thing.

Yeah. And I know that, you know, my mom was our biggest cheerleader. She would send us these long text messages and she just loved, loved him. I think I’d say, mom, I think you love him more than you love me. Because he was his biggest cheerleader.

But on the I mean, like, she knew, like, Butch does not like certain things and we would go to people’s house for dinner and she’d say, now, you know, don’t make this because Butch doesn’t like it.

They were so close and he loved him. Loved, loved, loved him. And so that when great things happen and even things that are not so great that happen, I feel like I go, mom, you know what’s going on right now. You know, because I feel that she’s still a part of it and I’m so excited. All I just can’t do is pick up the phone and hear her voice.

But I know that she’s, like I said, she’s still our biggest cheerleader and her and Jesus are there, you know, going like this just for our daily lives as we walk through things. But I want to add one thing. You’re saying how that, you know, we had you on the platform to teach. You guys did receive healing because you were able to move on and do things in your life like what you’re doing now. Heart needed to be healed.

Right. Your heart is, and yes, your heart needed to be healed. And so healing doesn’t have to necessarily be the tumor on your skin or the autoimmune disease that you can’t see. But our hearts are the biggest, out of our hearts flow the issues of life. That’s the And hardest you guys have allowed the Lord to heal your hearts as hard as it was and probably still is until the day that you’re back with Bovee again.

You know what’s so funny? You know that Bovee is going to say, Mom and Dad, what were you worried about?

Exactly. Well, you know, and I think when you’ve been through loss, like you have, you guys have, you know, your heart does become more tender for others. You know, the Bible says to comfort others with the same comfort you’ve received. And so your heart is broken and get healed, but yet you have a tenderness there, a little spot that you understand when someone else loses. People tell me, I was on the phone yesterday with an incredible minister, that he lost his son just twenty two weeks ago, and I didn’t know about it.

I couldn’t believe I didn’t know about it. We’re going to have him on the podcast next week, and he wanted to call me to tell me that. I’m like, Oh my God. As he told me that, something inside of me went, Oh, because I could feel that. I understood that.

And you understand it because of the loss of your mom that I didn’t realize how close she was and such a big fan. I mean, I knew you guys were close, but I didn’t notice you were such a fan of Butch. That really surprises me, Butch. No, I’m kidding.

Yeah, she just And Her handwriting was actually pretty good until the end where she was very hard for her

Absolutely. You know, it’s like I have a lady that I call my substitute mom and she was like I never want to be your mom but I’ll be your mom. I’ll be your mom you know for her to hear whatever you have to say and it’s been really nice and I want to encourage people with that too like I call her all the time and share all these things and she’s like so excited about you know hearing that and I think that we just need like kids need still need their mom like we need our fathers our physical fathers but we need I’m so excited to tell the Lord things. Lord, look what happened. He was like, yeah, I know I made that happen.

But he, you know, to be excited to tell him, you know, and then to thank him for like, I don’t know how you did that, but you did it. And, you know, just

It’s just nice to have people around you that can be a substitute parent where you can just be as excited and they can encourage you as well.

Absolutely. Yeah. We have a dear friend that just lost his wife. Of course, she was a dear friend of ours as well. And, and it was funny.

One day I walked in the house and and he’s on the phone with Jill and they’re just talking for like an hour and a half. And he goes, oh, and I said, he said, oh, Charlie just walked in. Hey, how you doing? He just kept on talking with Jill. You know, I just loved it, though.

Was so sweet because he just missed talking with his wife. Him and his wife just would talk constantly. And so now to this day, you know, we’re always chatting with him, always talking with him, texting him all the time, But he still he misses his wife. It hasn’t been quite a year yet, but he you know, they were such a you know, so close. And and, you know, we have so many friends, as you know, that have lost their husbands or their wives here in the last few years.
