During this troubled time in our nation and the world, we want to share a song from the Word of God to encourage you.
When America experienced the 9/11 attacks, people were paralyzed by fear, having never experienced this type of trauma.
In the immediate days following, God gave us a song from His Word, a song of deliverance, to help dispel fear and anxiety from people’s hearts.
With the onslaught of this attack on our planet, fear is trying to take a strong hold in people’s minds. But we have some hope for you!
Inspired by Psalm 91, this song is called, I Will Not Be Afraid, and we’d like to give it to you as a gift. We want to help you focus on the Lord’s goodness and love for you.
I Will Not Be Afraid
(lyrics)
Chorus
I will not be afraid, I will not be afraid
of the terror by night nor the arrow by day
For the Lord is on my side
I will cling to Him always
Because of what the Lord will do for me
I will not be afraid.
Verse 1
The Lord is faithful to deliver me
So I will put my trust in Him
As I dwell in the shelter of the Almighty
He will hide me beneath His wings
(chorus)
Verse 2
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge
My fortress, the Lord is my shield
I will offer up praise all of my days
For I know He will deliver me
(chorus)
Ending
For the Lord is on my side
I will cling to Him always
Because of what the Lord will do for me
Because of everything He’s done for me
He’s faithful to watch over me
I will not be afraid
This is not the time to fear or to panic, but to keep God’s promises first place in our hearts,
simply live responsibly (i.e., wash our hands!:), and not allow fear to dominate our emotions.
One of His promises in 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power, love and a sound mind or self control.
Instead of panicking or freaking out at the grocery store or dreading restrictions
and business closures, let’s turn our attention to the Lord and His promises
MORE THAN the other voices around us.
Then, God’s PEACE that passes all understanding can saturate our hearts. (Philippians 4:6-7)
With HIS PEACE reigning in our hearts, we can continue to help hurting people all around us and encourage them to also put their trust in the Living God, Who loves us all so much!
Let God’s Word in Song build confidence in your heart today, so you, in turn, can
be a blessing to others around you.

Through His Grace,
Psalm 91
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge,
2 This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge,
my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.
3 For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings.
3 For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday,
7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you,
7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
8 Just open your eyes and see how the wicked are punished.
9 If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
11 For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
14 The Lord says. “I will rescue those who love Me.
14 The Lord says. “I will rescue those who love Me.
I will protect those who trust My Name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble.
15 When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
16 I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
