Happy New Year, Friend!
This seems like such a shallow statement to say in light of last year’s hardships for so many.
However, the good news is, even in the midst of hardship, we can find rest in the Lord!
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. (NLT)
Thank God, after a CRAZY year of upheaval, we can continue to live in close fellowship with Him, abiding in His shelter, and there find the rest and peace we need every day.
Jesus said it like this:
Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to Me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with Mine. Learn My ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in Me. Matthew 11:28-29 TPT
The Psalmist said,
I look up to the mountains – does my help come from there? [NO!] My help comes from the Lord, Who made Heaven and Earth. Psalms 121:1-2
This is a great reminder to us all!
Regardless of the political outcome, shutdowns, mandates, etc., WE MUST LOOK TO THE LORD for peace and to find rest!
Let’s not focus on the news, social media, or any man, but let’s choose to continue living in close fellowship with Jesus. He never leaves us – WE’RE the ones who “distance” ourselves, even many times unintentionally! We will find peace and rest from the heart of God as we live in the shelter of the Most High and under His shadow!
