We just returned from the UK and experienced some wonderful times of ministry. It continues to amaze us how the Holy Spirit touches people so deeply through worship. So many shared how they were deeply enriched and encouraged in connecting with the Lord on a new level.
There is something special that happens when we sing from our hearts to the Lord!
Ephesians 5:19 says to make melody in your heart to the Lord. It’s one thing to sing a song, but to sing fully engaged from your heart is another thing altogether. That’s what Paul encouraged us to do: Sing from deep within, with emotion and feeling.
In fact, in 1 Corinthians 14:15 he says to sing with the spirit AND sing with the understanding.
If we want to truly experience God’s riches in secret places, we must learn how to connect and sing from deep within our spirits as we worship. Jesus Himself said we MUST worship in spirit and truth — from our spirit to His.
Being born again and one with the Lord in our spirits is the component that enables us to sing and make melody in our hearts to Him.
The Lord loves to hear you sing. He loves to hear you make melody in your heart to Him. What it sounds like to you is irrelevant — Your heart-connected songs are precious to Him!
