The other night Jill & I were sitting on our back patio enjoying a peaceful evening. Although it was a slightly hazy night and could only see the moon and couple of stars, it was still a special moment and I found myself gazing into the heavens.
Peering into the vast dark sky, I felt I heard the Lord say,
As you gaze upon Me and My greatness, I will pull you into your destiny.
I was MAJORLY impacted by this and began to ponder it. You mean God is pulling me into the plans He has for me as I simply gaze upon Him and look to Him? YES!
God is like a big magnet of love, and when you get into His “tractor beam” or His “force field,” 🙂 He pulls you towards Himself and lavishes His greatness and possibilities on you.
Sometimes our lives may seem a little aimless and even out of control. But there’s hope, because The Great I AM puts the pieces back together as we look to Him!
I don’t normally like the thought of being pulled on, BUT I like the thought of God pulling us toward Himself. As we gaze on HIM and meditate on His greatness, He will most assuredly pull us into our destiny.
There are many things in life that pull us in many directions… So many voices calling us to do this and that with emails, phone calls, text messages, social media, TV shows, sports, movies, all vying for attention! But there is only One Source that can pull us into our God future, and that is God himself.
Since the Lord told me to gaze upon Him, I thought I would look up that word. And when I did — man, was I blessed!
Gaze: To look long and fixedly, especially in wonder or admiration – a fixed look; stare, to look steadily and intently, as with great interest or wonder, a steady or intent look.
Gazing on God! It makes ALL the difference — Looking steadily and intently at Him with great interest and wonder! How amazing is that?!
What have you been gazing at lately? What’s been occupying your eyes, mind and heart? Simply put, we are drawn towards what we look at.
Whatever you give your attention to is what will influence you and change you.
The good news is, if we look at God, His bigness and unlimited power, we are pulled into His greatness and limitless opportunities.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by
the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18
Whatever we behold, we will be transformed into. If all you do is watch junky TV and listen to negative news or talk radio or even gossip, I guarantee you it will make you negative and rob you of peace and blessings.
I like what Jesus told us:
The light of the body is the eye: therefore when your eye is single, your whole body also is full of light; but when your eye is evil, your body also is full of darkness. Matthew 6:22-23
And I know you’ve heard the phrase, What you see is what you get! ‘Nuf said!
What are you seeing for your future? Have you gone outside lately and just looked up to the heavens and communed with God like Abraham did?
[God] took him outside and said, ‘Look up at the sky and count the stars if indeed you can count them.’ Then He said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be.’
Genesis 15:5-6
So the LORD must wait for you to come to Him so He can show you His love and compassion.
Isaiah 30:18
He’s waiting for us to have Face Time with Him 🙂
‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
Through the precious Holy Spirit, He is opening our eyes to see all the good things He has for us. As you spend time with Him, time in His Word and pray in the Spirit, God will draw you and pull you into all the glorious things He has for you.
Keep looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith! (Hebrews 12:2)
Gazing on Him,
